What is it about the Cubs discourse community that keeps fans so passionate? I love sports. I am a diehard Green Bay Packers fan, and I will support Purdue athletics until I die. But there is no team I want to see win more than the Chicago Cubs. So, despite the ongoing failure, what is it that keeps fans always coming back for more? Is it the beauty of Wrigley Field, the competition with the White Sox or is it simply the despairing optimism that keeps us just confident enough to say, “next year is the year.” There is no doubt, being a Cubs fan is a rollercoster ride. But, I believe I speak for all Cubs fans when I say, I am proud to be a Cubs fan, and even as the curse stays true in Wrigleyville so will my passion for the Cubs.
